Dense fog to persist across Odisha for three days: IMD

Bhubaneswar, Jan 25: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted dense fog across several parts of Odisha for the next three days, starting January 25.
A dense fog warning has been issued for one or two locations in districts such as Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, and Angul until the morning of January 26. The IMD further forecasted similar conditions for Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Cuttack, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, and Sundargarh until the morning of January 28.
Shallow to moderate fog is expected during early morning hours in districts including Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Bhadrak, Balasore, Jajpur, Cuttack, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati. A few locations in Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Keonjhar, Deogarh, Sundargarh, Angul, Koraput, Nuapada, and Jharsuguda may also experience fog during this period.
The IMD noted that night temperatures are unlikely to witness significant changes over the next four to five days.
In the past 24 hours, G Udayagiri in Kandhamal emerged as the coldest location in Odisha, recording a minimum temperature of 9.4°C. Other notable temperatures included 10.5°C in Semiliguda (Koraput), 11.5°C in Phulbani, 13°C in Daringbadi, and 13.5°C in Koraput. Meanwhile, Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded minimum temperatures of 17.6°C and 18°C, respectively.
Dense fog enveloped areas like Angul, Cuttack, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, and Nayagarh earlier this morning, impacting visibility in these regions.
