Khalistani leader issues video threat ahead of high-profile security conference in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Nov 28: A day before the DG-IG conference in Bhubaneswar, Khalistani separatist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun released a video threatening to disrupt the high-profile event. Scheduled to take place from November 29 to December 1 at Lok Seva Bhawan, the conference will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Security Advisor Ajit Doval, and numerous senior security officials.

In his video message, Pannun, leader of the Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) group, challenged Modi, Shah, and Doval to visit Ram Mandir in Bhubaneswar and urged his supporters to conceal their identities and take cover in local temples and hotels to interfere with the conference.

He claimed that the gathering would serve as a platform for planning violence against pro-Khalistan Sikhs, Kashmiri fighters, Naxals, and Maoists, labeling the over 200 attending security personnel from agencies like NIA, CRPF, and BSF as terrorists.

Pannun characterized the Modi-Shah-Doval trio as the "axis of evil," alleging they pose a significant security threat to Bhubaneswar, which he referred to as a "terror city." He accused Shah of involvement in the death of Hardeep Singh Nijjar and asserted that Bhubaneswar would become the focal point of unrest on December 1.

In response, DGP Y.B. Khurania confirmed that extensive security measures are in place to ensure the conference proceeds without incident, stating that the police are on high alert and have implemented rigorous precautions.
