CM Mohan Majhi urges youth to join civil defence, plans expansion across Odisha

Bhubaneswar, May 11: With 12 civil defence organisations currently active in Odisha, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has announced plans to expand the network to other regions as needed. He has instructed officials to identify additional areas where such organisations can be established to bolster emergency response and public safety efforts.
Addressing the youth of the state, Majhi made a heartfelt appeal for them to join the civil defence force as volunteers. “The safety of lives and property of our citizens is a shared responsibility. Security and service are among our highest duties,” he said, emphasizing the role of civil defence in disaster preparedness, emergency response, and public welfare.
Calling upon young citizens to come forward with a sense of nationalism and civic responsibility, the Chief Minister encouraged them to apply directly through the District Collectors, who also serve as controllers of civil defence in their respective regions.
Majhi assured that selected volunteers would receive proper training and play a vital role in providing essential services during emergencies. He expressed confidence that the involvement of the youth would strengthen the spirit of service, patriotism, and solidarity throughout the state.
