President Murmu emphasizes global impact of Indian diaspora in shaping a developed India

Bhubaneswar, Jan 10: President Droupadi Murmu emphasized the vital role of the Indian diaspora in realizing India's vision of "Viksit Bharat," aiming for a developed nation by 2047, which marks the centenary of India's independence.

Speaking at the closing session of the three-day Pravasi Bharatiya Convention, she stated, "Our nation is progressing towards Viksit Bharat by 2047. This National Mission requires active participation from all Indians, including those abroad. The Indian diaspora is crucial to this vision, as their global experiences and achievements position them to make substantial contributions to our nation's development."

President Murmu praised the diaspora for embodying the best qualities of India and for bringing with them the knowledge, skills, and values rooted in Indian civilization. She highlighted their significant impact in various fields, including technology, medicine, arts, and entrepreneurship, earning respect on a global scale.

She expressed her satisfaction that the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas has become a platform for idea exchange, collaboration, and strengthening the relationship between India and its diaspora. Emphasizing the Indian philosophy of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, she spoke about creating an ecosystem that fulfills local needs while contributing to global welfare.

The President concluded by asserting that India's vision seeks to balance economic development with social justice and environmental care, with the diaspora playing a crucial role in achieving this future.
