Odisha’s Subhadra Yojana sees surge in re-enrollment after new portal feature

Bhubaneswar, Jan 11: Over 8,000 individuals have successfully re-registered for the 'Subhadra' scheme after inadvertently selecting the ‘Opt Out’ option on the portal, according to an announcement made by the Women and Child Development Department on Saturday.

The Odisha government recently introduced an ‘Opt-in’ feature on the Subhadra portal, aimed at allowing eligible beneficiaries who previously opted out to re-enroll in the scheme. This initiative provides a pathway for individuals to regain their benefits.

However, more than 200,000 applicants still need to complete their electronic Know Your Customer (e-KYC) verification, which could hinder their ability to receive financial assistance from the Subhadra Yojana, despite their eligibility. To prevent delays in fund disbursement, authorities are urging all pending applicants to complete their e-KYC at the nearest public service center as soon as possible.

The first installment of the fourth phase of the 'Subhadra' scheme is expected to be released shortly, underscoring the importance of timely compliance. Additionally, the Odisha cabinet has set March 31, 2025, as the registration deadline for the Subhadra Yojana benefits for the financial year 2024-25. Deputy CM Pravati Parida also announced that in 2025, women in Odisha will receive Subhadra Yojana funds on three separate occasions throughout the year.
