800 schools in Odisha set for upgrade under PM Shri initiative

Bhubaneswar, July 10: The Odisha government has made a significant announcement regarding the upgrade of approximately 800 schools across the state under the PM Shri Schools (PM Schools for Rising India) initiative, aligning with the National Education Policy (NEP).
Chief Minister Mohan Majhi confirmed the signing of an MoU between the Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education, Government of India, and the State of Odisha for the implementation of this initiative.
Under this decision, two schools each in block and urban areas will undergo development as part of the PM Shri Schools initiative. These schools will adopt the curriculum and teaching methodologies outlined in the NEP, emphasizing technology-based education with facilities like ICT, digital labs, digital libraries, and digital learning tools.
Furthermore, there will be a focus on teaching in students' mother tongues to bridge the language gap between teachers and students, as per official sources.
