Statewide bank closure in Odisha on September 9 for Nuakhai

Bhubaneswar, Sept 7: All banks and financial institutions across Odisha will remain closed on September 9 (Monday) in observance of the Nuakhai festival. The Odisha government has officially declared this day as a holiday for all financial entities in the state in recognition of the agrarian festival.

The Revenue and Disaster Management department issued a notification confirming the holiday.

It is noteworthy that the state government had previously announced a holiday for all government, government-aided, and private schools, offices, and magisterial courts in Odisha for Nuakhai.

Nuakhai, a significant agrarian festival, will be celebrated on September 8 (Sunday). Since the festival falls on a Sunday, the government designated the following day as a public holiday.
