PM Modi praises Odisha CM Mohan Majhi for a year of pro-people governance

Bhubaneswar, June 20: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday commended Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and his team for completing one year in office, calling it a year dedicated to public service, trust, and transparent governance. Speaking at a state-level event in Bhubaneswar, the Prime Minister said the BJP government had ushered in a new era of responsible administration in Odisha.

"June 20 marks not just the anniversary of a government, but a celebration of good governance in Odisha," said Modi. "In its first year, the government focused entirely on serving the people and building trust. I congratulate the people of Odisha and the entire team led by CM Mohan Majhi for their commitment."

PM Modi highlighted that the BJP-led government isn’t working with a short-term mindset but has clear development goals for the future, including a vision for 2036—when Odisha marks its centenary year—and a broader national roadmap for 2047, the centennial of India’s independence.

He also praised the state government for fulfilling key promises, especially those related to the Jagannath Temple in Puri. “Opening all four doors of the Srimandir and unlocking the Ratna Bhandar reflects deep respect for the faith of crores of devotees,” Modi said, adding that these actions are rooted in devotion, not politics.
