Part plot sales in Odisha to get official nod soon

Bhubaneswar, May 2: The Odisha government is expected to formally announce its policy on the sale of part plots — divided sections of larger land holdings — by the end of this month. Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari confirmed the development on Friday while addressing media queries about the much-awaited regulation.
Minister Pujari stated that the process of granting permission for part plot sales is nearing completion and that the final notification is under active review. "We are in the final stages of examining the matter. The notification is likely to be issued within this month," he said.
While the Urban Development Department leads the initiative, the Revenue Department is playing a key role in reviewing the draft policy and coordinating with all relevant stakeholders. Discussions are already in progress with landowners, real estate developers, and other concerned parties to ensure the framework is inclusive and transparent.
Once internal reviews and departmental consultations conclude, the government will publish an official gazette notification. The move is expected to ease land transactions, promote planned development, and address long-standing challenges in urban land management across Odisha.
