15-year-old commits suicide after argument over mobile gaming in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Jan 28: A tragic incident unfolded in Chardihariharpur village, located in the Kuanrmunda area of Odisha’s Sundargarh district, where a 15-year-old boy reportedly took his own life following an argument with his mother over mobile phone gaming.
The deceased, identified as Dinabandhu, was a Class X student and son of Surendra Kisan. According to initial reports, the incident occurred on Saturday evening when Dinabandhu was engrossed in mobile games instead of preparing for his upcoming board exams.
His mother reprimanded him, urging him to concentrate on his studies, which led to a heated exchange. Distressed by the confrontation, Dinabandhu isolated himself in his study room.
After an extended period of silence, family members grew concerned and forcibly opened the door, only to discover him hanging from the ceiling with a scarf. The local police have since registered an unnatural death case and conducted a post-mortem examination. The body has been returned to the family, leaving the community in shock over this heartbreaking loss.
