Odisha Higher Education Dept extends deadline for first round UG admissions to June 21

Bhubaneswar, June 20: The Higher Education Department of Odisha has announced an extension of the deadline for the first round of undergraduate (UG) admissions for the 2025–26 academic session.
According to the official notification issued on Friday, the decision was taken to benefit students who were allotted seats in the first round but were unable to complete admission formalities—such as fee payment or reporting to their assigned institutions—within the earlier deadline.
Eligible candidates can now pay admission fees, choose the Freeze/Slide/Float option, and report to their allotted colleges by 3 PM on June 21. The department clarified that this extension will help students fulfil the remaining formalities without facing penalties or disqualification.
Authorities have urged all selected students to make use of this final opportunity to confirm their admission. The department also emphasized that no further extension would be granted, and failing to meet the revised deadline may result in forfeiture of the allotted seat.
The extension aims to ensure greater participation in the admission process and avoid disqualification due to minor delays, especially for those facing genuine difficulties.
