Odisha extends Hockey India sponsorship till 2036
Bhubaneswar, June 21: The Odisha government has extended its sponsorship of Hockey India for an additional three years, spanning from 2033 to 2036, reaffirming its commitment to the sport's development. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi made this announcement following a meeting with Hockey India President Dilip Tirkey and Secretary General Bholanath Singh at the State Guest House today.
During the meeting, discussions highlighted Odisha's prominent global standing in hockey and its significant contributions to the growth of the Indian national hockey team. Both parties expressed their intent to collaborate closely in advancing hockey to greater heights.
Chief Minister Majhi emphasized that Odisha plans to commemorate the centenary of its statehood in 2036, underscoring the decision to extend Hockey India's sponsorship period. Since 2018, the Odisha government has been a key sponsor of the Indian hockey team, building on commitments made by previous administrations to support the sport through 2023.
