Odisha CM Mohan Majhi resumes grievance hearings, draws public interest

Bhubaneswar, July 1: Large numbers of people from various parts of Odisha converged on Bhubaneswar to present their grievances to Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi. Accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister K V Singh Deo and other ministers, the Chief Minister personally heard and addressed public concerns at the CM’s Grievance Cell in Unit-V of the capital city.
The revival of the CM’s Grievance Cell by the BJP government after several years drew citizens from across the state, representing diverse sectors of society. Officials confirmed that Chief Minister Majhi, along with his deputy and colleagues, engaged directly with citizens seeking resolution for their issues.
The renewed emphasis on grievance redressal holds significance, especially since former Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had scaled back interactions at the grievance cell. Sources indicated that Mohan Majhi intends to consistently engage with public grievances, a move welcomed by citizens eager to share their concerns for prompt resolution.
Furthermore, the state government has reinstated Monday hearings for public grievances across all departments, extending the outreach to district levels. Directives from the General Administration & Public Grievance department underscore the government’s commitment to responsive governance.
