Odisha CM lays foundation for ₹200 crore SUM Lifesciences project

Bhubaneswar, Sept 15: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday laid the foundation stone for SUM Lifesciences, a ₹200 crore pharmaceutical manufacturing and research facility, at the Gothapatna Industrial Estate on the outskirts of the city.
SUM Lifesciences, a subsidiary of Summa Real Media Private Ltd, is expected to create direct employment opportunities for 1,280 people once operational.
The project is among 27 industrial ventures for which the foundation was laid remotely by the Chief Minister during a ceremony held at the Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) campus. These projects will be spread across 12 districts of the state.
The event was attended by Minister for Industries Sampad Charan Swain, Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, Development Commissioner Anu Garg, Principal Secretary of Industries Hemant Sharma, along with other senior government officials.
