Ladakh tragedy: Odisha CM mourns loss of five army jawans in tank mishap

Bhubaneswar, June 29: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has expressed profound sorrow over the tragic demise of five army jawans following a tank submersion incident during a warfare exercise in Ladakh.
Highlighting the essential nature of defence exercises for national security, the Chief Minister emphasized the dedication of the armed forces to safeguarding the country.
In a released statement, Majhi honored the sacrifice of the martyred jawans, affirming that their contributions to national security will be forever remembered by the nation. He extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the bereaved and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed souls.
The incident occurred during a tank warfare exercise near the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in the Daulat Beg Oldi area on Friday, where a sudden cloudburst led to the flooding of a stream, resulting in the tragic loss of five soldiers.
