Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan extends greetings on Sambalpuri Din

Bhubaneswar, Aug 1: Union Education Minister and Sambalpur MP Dharmendra Pradhan on Thursday extended his greetings to the people of Odisha on the occasion of 'Sambalpuri Din' (Sambalpuri Day).
Sambalpuri Din commemorates the birth anniversary of Guru Satyanarayan Bohidar, a renowned poet who made significant contributions to Sambalpuri literature and culture. The day is being celebrated with enthusiasm across Odisha and internationally, highlighting Sambalpuri art and traditions.
In a video message, Pradhan stated, "Today, August 1, we celebrate Sambalpuri Din, marking the birth anniversary of the esteemed poet Guru Satyanarayan Bohidar. I extend my heartfelt greetings and tribute to him. His dedication to elevating the Sambalpuri language, culture, and literature is truly unforgettable."
He also mentioned the establishment of the 'Rangabati Centre of Excellence' at IIM Sambalpur, which focuses on researching Sambalpuri literature and history, praising it as a significant achievement. "With the support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, this center is a source of pride and joy," Pradhan added.
The Minister encouraged everyone to promote the rich culture of the Sambalpur region and foster a sense of unity and brotherhood. "Sambalpuri culture teaches us to find joy in the happiness of others. Let’s work towards spreading this spirit of brotherhood," he urged.
Guru Satyanarayan Bohidar, born on August 1, 1913, in Subarnapur, is celebrated as a pioneer of the Sambalpuri or Kosali language and grammar. His 100th birth anniversary in 2013 led to the formal recognition of Sambalpuri Din.
