CM inaugurates projects worth ₹205 crore, announces kendu leaf workers’ aid in Deogarh

Bhubaneswar, June 3: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Tuesday inaugurated and laid foundation stones for 15 key developmental projects worth ₹205 crore during his visit to Deogarh district. The initiatives aim to boost both healthcare and education infrastructure in the region.

Of the 15 projects, 11 are focused on strengthening the healthcare sector, while four target improvements in the field of education. A major highlight was the inauguration of a newly constructed 300-bed hospital, which is expected to significantly enhance medical facilities in the district.

During the visit, the Chief Minister also announced a financial assistance package of ₹41.17 crore for kendu leaf pluckers, binders, and seasonal workers across the state. Under the package, each kendu leaf plucker will receive ₹160 for slippers, ₹200 for storage cloth, and ₹100 for protective hats. Binders will receive ₹700 for mosquito nets and blankets. Nearly nine lakh workers will benefit from this welfare measure.

Emphasizing inclusive development, CM Majhi said Deogarh holds immense potential and the government is committed to harnessing it to ensure the district contributes to Odisha’s broader growth and prosperity.
