Police detain minor for posing as doctor at Puri DHH

Bhubaneswar, Dec 31: A 17-year-old boy posing as a doctor was apprehended by police at the Puri District Headquarters Hospital. The minor, a +2 student at Samant Chandrasekhar College, had been seen wandering around the male ward wearing a doctor's apron and stethoscope.

For several days, he attended to patients, but his actions raised suspicions among the nursing staff and hospital personnel, who noticed he was not prescribing any medication or providing appropriate medical care.

When confronted, the boy admitted he was merely a student seeking to gain insight into the medical field. His lack of qualifications and suspicious behavior prompted the nurses to alert the authorities. Police arrived promptly, detaining the boy and contacting his family for further investigation.

This incident highlights the importance of monitoring access to medical facilities to ensure patient safety and security, as unauthorized individuals can pose significant risks in healthcare settings.
