Bhubaneswar, Jan 28: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today officially opened the two-day 'Utkarsh Odisha – Make in Odisha Conclave 2025,' a major global investment summit organized by the Odisha government in Bhubaneswar.

The event was attended by prominent figures, including Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, and Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan and Ashwini Vaishnaw, along with key industry leaders.

The conclave aims to establish Odisha as a pivotal player in the Purvodaya Vision, highlighting the state’s potential as a premier investment hub and industrial center in India. The Prime Minister also inaugurated the Make in Odisha Exhibition, showcasing the state's accomplishments in building a robust industrial ecosystem. This exhibition will facilitate discussions among industry leaders, investors, and policymakers about the investment opportunities available in Odisha.

Throughout the conclave, various activities such as CEOs and Leaders’ Roundtables, sectoral sessions, B2B meetings, and policy discussions will take place, engaging over 7,500 investors from both domestic and international markets.

The event will concentrate on five critical sectors: information technology, renewable energy, textiles, chemicals, and food processing. Notably, twelve countries, including Australia, Malaysia, Japan, Germany, Poland, and Cuba, have been invited as ‘Countries of Focus’ to engage in the conclave.

The Odisha government has set an ambitious target of attracting investments worth ₹5 lakh crore, with plans to sign around 100 Memoranda of Understanding during this significant event. According to Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain, the focus will extend beyond just signing agreements to ensuring effective project implementation. The conclave is seen as a vital step toward achieving the goals of Samrudh Odisha by 2036 and Viksit Bharat by 2047.
