Odisha govt postpones 4th phase of Subhadra Yojana amid ongoing verifications

Bhubaneswar, Dec 16: The Deputy Chief Minister of Odisha, Pravati Parida, announced on Monday that the fourth phase transfer of the first installment of the Subhadra Yojana has been delayed due to ongoing verification processes. Initially, the Odisha government planned to disburse the funds on December 25.
Parida urged beneficiaries to complete their e-KYC and biometric verification, emphasizing that this is their final opportunity to enroll. She noted that over 20 lakh beneficiaries are expected to receive financial aid in this phase. Currently, about 5.11 lakh applicants have either not completed their e-KYC or have done so using one-time passwords (OTPs).
These individuals must finalize their verification at Common Services Centres (CSCs) or Mo Seva Kendras (MSKs) by providing their Aadhaar numbers and acknowledgment receipts. The biometric e-KYC process will be offered free of charge.
Regarding applications rejected for inaccurately claiming ownership of five acres of land, Parida encouraged eligible beneficiaries to address their grievances via the Subhadra portal or their respective block committees.
Additionally, she disclosed that 52 CSCs have been blacklisted for failing to comply with Subhadra Yojana regulations, and police complaints have been lodged against 14 CSCs for allegedly accepting payments from applicants. Last month, Parida also stated that eligible individuals could submit applications for the first installment of ₹5,000 until March 7, 2025, with the second installment scheduled for distribution on International Women’s Day, March 8, 2025. To date, over 80.45 lakh women have benefited from the scheme.
