Odisha CM marks Raksha Bandhan with students and community members

Bhubaneswar, Aug 19: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi celebrated Raksha Bandhan at an event held at the State Guest House in the Odisha capital. His sister, Rasamani Majhi, performed the traditional Rakhi ceremony.
The event was attended by school and college students, who tied rakhi to the Chief Minister and received his blessings along with sweets and gifts. Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida also participated in the ceremony by tying rakhi to the CM.
The celebration also saw participation from Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) sanitation workers, children from SOS Village, members of the Prajapati Brahmakumari, and women journalists.
Chief Minister Majhi remarked, "Today we celebrate the sacred bond between siblings alongside Gamha Purnami. I extend my wishes for happiness, peace, and prosperity to all the sisters in the state and assure their safety. Additionally, we are set to launch the Subhadra Yojana to further support them."
Schools and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond and Bhubaneswar-Ekamra MLA Babu Singh were also present at the event.
