Chief Minister Mohan Majhi cleans Bada Danda before Rath Yatra

Bhubaneswar, July 6: On the eve of the Rath Yatra festival, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi led a large-scale cleanliness campaign along the Bada Danda (Grand Road) in Puri on Saturday. Accompanied by Deputy Chief Ministers KV Singh Deo, Pravati Parida, and several other cabinet ministers, Majhi personally wielded a broom to clear the area.
Expressing the significance of the cleanliness drive, Majhi highlighted its importance ahead of the annual Rath Yatra, during which millions of devotees gather to witness Lord Jagannath and his siblings on their chariots at Bada Danda. Emphasizing the need to maintain cleanliness for the upcoming festival, Majhi urged devotees to avoid single-use plastics and refrain from littering during the event.
Joining Majhi and his deputies were Puri MP Sambit Patra, Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, Sports Minister Suryabanshi Suraj, along with enthusiastic volunteers, in this concerted effort to prepare Bada Danda for the Rath Yatra celebrations.
