Subhadra Yojana: Beneficiaries registered by Sept15 to receive first payment

Bhubaneswar, Sept 14: With Prime Minister Narendra Modi set to launch the Odisha government’s ambitious Subhadra Yojana on September 17, women beneficiaries are eager to know if they will receive the first installment. To clear any confusion, Odisha’s Deputy Chief Minister, Pravati Parida, confirmed on Saturday that all women who have applied or registered for the scheme by September 15 will be eligible for the first installment after the official launch.
Parida noted that over 50 lakh women have already applied for the scheme, and they will receive their first payment of Rs 5,000 on September 17. She also clarified that women who submit their applications by September 15 will qualify for the initial payment under this welfare initiative aimed at supporting women.
The scheme, which Modi is set to launch on his birthday, will directly transfer funds into the bank accounts of the beneficiaries, according to Parida.
Subhadra Yojana is being hailed as the largest women-centric initiative, targeting more than one crore women. Eligible women aged 21 to 60 will receive a total of Rs 50,000 over five years, from 2024-25 to 2028-29, with Rs 10,000 disbursed annually in two equal installments to their Aadhaar and DBT-enabled bank accounts.
