Panchpir Women’s Degree College conducts self-defense training programme

Bhubaneswar, Oct 28: Panchpir Women's Degree College recently held a closing ceremony for its 20-day self-defense training program, which began on September 23 as part of the 2023-24 academic session.

The event featured esteemed guests, including Principal of Karanjia Junior College, Dillip Kumar Prusty, and ICC Member and Livelihood Expert from ITDA Bharati Raj. They emphasized the importance of self-sufficiency and independence for women in today's society, highlighting how self-defense skills can empower girls.

The college's Principal, Pranati Barik, presided over the ceremony and encouraged students to advocate for their rights, stressing the numerous benefits that come with learning self-defense techniques. N.S. Payal, a Lecturer in English and the program coordinator, introduced the guests and expressed gratitude to Master Trainer Shibani Behera and Leeza Naik for their guidance.

Certificates of participation were awarded to the students, acknowledging their commitment to the program. Faculty members from various departments, including Anil Charudarshi, Sebati Prusty, and Priyadarshi Ghana, attended the event, reinforcing the college's dedication to empowering its students through education and skill development.
