Odisha to launch third phase of 'Subhadra Yojana' tomorrow

Bhubaneswar, Nov 23: The Odisha government will kick off the third phase of the first installment of its cash transfer initiative, Subhadra Yojana, on Sunday, November 24, in Sundargarh, with Chief Minister Mohan Majhi in attendance. Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida announced on Saturday that 22% of the 2.67 lakh previously rejected applicants would receive payments in this phase.
“We have implemented a thorough verification process to ensure the eligibility of beneficiaries. Our goal is to make the process transparent and reach out to those who genuinely qualify,” Parida stated.
She added that applicants disqualified due to non-compliance with land and property criteria will undergo physical verification and are expected to receive payments in December. These women were previously denied benefits despite not owning land, as records showed a discrepancy due to paddy sales under their names in markets. These applications have been sent for further scrutiny and possible reevaluation at the block level.
Regarding the 5 lakh applications rejected due to issues with Aadhaar, mobile numbers, and bank account linkages, Parida confirmed that these beneficiaries would be included in the next phase. To support the process, Anganwadi workers and Mission Shakti members will carry out physical verifications in every village.
Additionally, Anganwadi workers will also receive financial assistance under the scheme in this third phase of the first installment.
