Odisha to include more beneficiaries in Subhadra Yojana

Bhubaneswar, Nov 28: All women reaching the age of 21 are now eligible for financial assistance under the Odisha government's Subhadra Yojana. Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida made this announcement on Thursday, emphasizing that those turning 21 this month can apply for benefits designed to empower women in the state.
Parida assured that the government is dedicated to incorporating eligible beneficiaries whose previous applications may have been rejected for various reasons. “We will ensure that all qualified individuals whose applications were declined are included in the fourth phase of the first installment,” she stated.
The Deputy CM noted that a verification process for the rejected applications is currently underway and is expected to conclude within 15 days. The government is focusing on districts with a high number of rejected applications compared to registrations. Teams of officials are already deployed in two panchayats in the Malkangiri district, with verification supervised by the Child Development Project Officer (CDPO).
Verification efforts are also taking place in Koraput and Gajapati districts, and eligible beneficiaries will receive their funds post-verification. So far, over 1.06 crore applications have been submitted, with 22 percent of the verification completed, and the government aims to assist at least 5,000 beneficiaries from each district.
