CHSE Odisha makes CCTV installation mandatory for 2026 Plus II exams
Bhubaneswar, Oct 16: In a move to ensure transparency and prevent malpractice during the upcoming Plus II practical and theory examinations in 2026, the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Odisha has made it mandatory for all examination centres to install CCTV cameras.
With the exams only a few months away, the council has stepped up its efforts to maintain the integrity and smooth conduct of the examination process. The directive applies to all higher secondary schools, self-financing colleges, and examination centre authorities across the state.
According to Controller of Examinations Dr. Prasanta Kumar Parida, CCTV cameras must be installed and kept fully functional in critical areas, including the Strong Rooms of Examination Management Hubs (EMHs), Centre Superintendent’s offices, examination halls, and laboratories. The footage will be monitored by CHSE officials to ensure that the exams are conducted in a fair and transparent manner.
Additionally, all school principals and headmasters have been instructed to submit a compliance report by November 29 on the installation and working condition of the CCTV systems. In case of any technical glitches, the institutions have been advised to repair or replace defective cameras immediately to avoid disruptions during the exams.
