Odisha CM urges citizens to make handwashing a daily habit on Global Handwashing Day
Bhubaneswar, Nov 15: On the occasion of Global Handwashing Day, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi stressed the crucial role of regular handwashing in preventing the spread of infectious diseases.
In a social media post, CM Majhi urged people to make handwashing a habitual part of their daily routine, emphasizing that it is one of the simplest and most effective ways to stay safe from illnesses such as COVID-19, diarrhoea, and pneumonia. He advised citizens to wash their hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, particularly before and after meals, after using the toilet, and while caring for the sick.
Majhi also called upon everyone to join hands in spreading awareness about hygiene practices to ensure a clean, healthy, and disease-free Odisha. “Clean hands, healthy life,” he wrote, underlining that small actions like handwashing can make a big difference in safeguarding public health and supporting a culture of cleanliness across the state.
