Bold robbery in Odisha: ATM uprooted with JCB, cash stolen in Jharsuguda

Bhubaneswar, March 20: In a shocking act of robbery, unidentified miscreants used a JCB excavator to uproot and loot an ATM of the Central Bank of India in Odisha’s Jharsuguda district. The daring incident took place in the early hours of Thursday at the bank’s kiosk located at BTM Chhak under the Sadar police limits.
Upon receiving information, a police team rushed to the spot and initiated an investigation. The robbers managed to flee with the entire ATM machine, leaving behind a damaged kiosk. Later, the stolen ATM was recovered in a broken condition, but the cash inside had already been looted.
As part of the investigation, police have detained the owner of the excavator suspected to have been used in the crime for questioning. Authorities are also scanning CCTV footage and tracking potential leads to identify and arrest the culprits. The police have assured that efforts are underway to recover the stolen cash and bring the perpetrators to justice.
