SOA observes Anti-Ragging Week with debates, poster making, and more

Bhubaneswar, Aug 21: A series of activities marked the observance of ‘Anti-Ragging Week’ at Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan Deemed to be University (SOA) from August 14 to 18, aimed at raising awareness among faculty, staff, and students about the dangers of ragging.
Throughout the five-day event, various activities were organized, including debates, essay writing, slogan creation, poster making, and rangoli competitions across different SOA campuses, in alignment with UGC guidelines.
Orientation programs were conducted at both the institute and hostel levels, involving students and staff to ensure a ragging-free campus. Over 400 staff members and 4000 students participated in the awareness programs.
On Tuesday, prizes were awarded to the winners of the various competitions during an event attended by SOA Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Pradipta Kumar Nanda. The program also featured addresses by Prof. Anup Kumar Samantaray, Dean of the Institute of Business and Computer Studies (IBCS), and Prof. Jyoti Ranjan Das, Dean (Students’ Welfare). Dr. Anshuman Jena, Faculty Coordinator, welcomed the guests, while Dr. Neha Gupta, Assistant Professor, delivered the vote of thanks.
