Odisha Government extends e-KYC deadline for ration card beneficiaries to January 31

Bhubaneswar, Jan 6: The Odisha government has announced an extension of the deadline for ration card beneficiaries to complete their e-KYC process under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) until January 31. This decision aims to provide additional time for eligible individuals to fulfill this important requirement.

Originally set to conclude on January 15, the extension allows beneficiaries more opportunity to complete their e-KYC, as stated by Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra. Currently, approximately 85% of eligible individuals have completed the process, leaving over 50 lakh beneficiaries yet to do so.

The Minister encourages those receiving support under the food security scheme to complete their e-KYC at local Electronic Public Service (EPS) outlets or ration distribution centers to ensure uninterrupted access to essential services. New ration cards will be issued to all eligible Public Distribution System (PDS) beneficiaries after the e-KYC process is completed.

Additionally, government officials have been tasked with assisting residents in completing their e-KYC, both within the state and for Odia individuals residing in other parts of the country. Recently, officials successfully assisted some Odia residents in Goa with their e-KYC.
