India pays emotional tribute to Ratan Tata during final farewell ceremony

New Delhi, Oct 10: Thousands, including top political figures, business leaders, celebrities, and ordinary citizens, gathered to bid a tearful farewell to the legendary industrialist Ratan Naval Tata on Thursday during his final journey. Tata, aged 86, passed away late Wednesday night after battling age-related health issues at Breach Candy Hospital, leaving the business world in deep mourning.

His mortal remains were brought to the NCPA Lawns in the morning for public homage before the funeral at Worli Crematorium in the evening. Prominent dignitaries, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, and several state ministers, MPs, and political leaders, paid their respects.

India’s top industrialists, including Mukesh Ambani and his family, as well as representatives from the Piramal, Godrej, Hinduja, Mahindra, Bajaj, and Birla families, also attended the tribute. Political figures like Sharad Pawar, Uddhav Thackeray, Raj Thackeray, and Prakash Ambedkar were present to honor Tata's contributions to the nation.

Tata’s glass-topped coffin, draped in the Tricolour, was taken to Worli for cremation amid prayers from various religious communities, honoring his legacy and contributions.
