Bhubaneswar, June 1: A tragic incident unfolded in Odisha's Bhadrak district as a man allegedly stabbed his wife to death near a polling booth on Saturday. The victim, Rashmirekha Behera, hailing from Jaragambhira village, had been married to Prabhakar Rout of Muktadihi village for approximately five years.

The couple's relationship had deteriorated over the past three years following the birth of their son, leading to frequent disputes over family matters. Recently, Rashmi had moved back to her parents' home in her village due to escalating conflicts.

On the day of the incident, Rashmi, accompanied by her paternal uncle, had gone to cast her vote in Muktadihi village during the final phase of elections in the state. Tragically, while waiting in the queue, Prabhakar allegedly approached her and attacked her with a sharp weapon.
