SOA’s Odisha AI Symposium to spotlight innovation, governance and future tech

Bhubaneswar, Dec 10: With an aim to accelerate Odisha’s AI-driven growth and solidify its position in India’s rapidly expanding artificial intelligence ecosystem, SOA Deemed to be University— in collaboration with the Odisha Society of America (OSA) and the AI and HPC Research Centre of IIT Bhubaneswar — will host the Odisha AI Symposium on December 18 in Bhubaneswar.
The symposium has been designated as an official pre-event for the India AI Impact Summit 2026, with SOA serving as the host institution in partnership with the Indian AI Mission under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.
SOA, one of eastern India’s leading professional education institutions, has consistently ranked among the top 25 higher educational institutions in the NIRF rankings and was placed 15th nationally in 2025. Re-accredited by NAAC with an A++ grade in 2022, the university continues to secure strong global standings in QS and THE rankings.
The Odisha Society of America, one of the most influential global organisations representing Odias worldwide, will bring its robust diaspora network and commitment to technological and community development to the event, adding significant international reach and expertise to Odisha’s AI ambitions.
The AI and HPC Research Center at IIT Bhubaneswar, established in May 2023, focuses on high-performance computing, applied research and innovation aimed at driving technology-enabled growth and societal transformation in Odisha and beyond.
The symposium will convene leading policymakers, industry leaders, entrepreneurs, innovators, investors and key ecosystem stakeholders. SOA plans to ensure participation from renowned national and international AI experts whose perspectives are expected to shape policy frameworks, accelerate innovation-led economic development and promote inclusive socio-economic growth in the state.
Positioned as a key initiative ahead of Odisha’s large-scale AI-led transformation, the Odisha AI Symposium aims to act as a catalyst for creating a future-ready, AI-enabled ecosystem. It will focus on strategic discussions, deep-tech collaborations, sector-specific solutions and a roadmap for scalable AI applications across governance, education, healthcare, agriculture, industry and public service delivery.
