Paris Olympics: Manu Bhaker's historic feat with two bronze medals

New Delhi, July 30: Manu Bhaker made a significant mark in Indian sports history by becoming the first Indian woman to win multiple medals in a single Olympic Games on Tuesday. The 22-year-old shooter earned a bronze medal in the 10m pistol mixed team event at the Paris Olympics, alongside her partner Sarabjot Singh. They triumphed over the South Korean team with a score of 16-10.

Earlier in the Games, Bhaker also secured a bronze in the women’s 10m air pistol event, highlighting her exceptional performance in shooting sports. This achievement not only adds to India's medal tally at the 2024 Paris Olympics but also places Bhaker in an exclusive category of Indian athletes. She joins P.V. Sindhu as the only Indian women to win two Olympic medals. Sindhu previously made history at the Tokyo Olympics by winning a bronze medal and had also secured a silver at the Rio Olympics.

In the mixed team event, Bhaker and Singh demonstrated remarkable skill and composure, overcoming a formidable South Korean team. Bhaker's precision and focused approach were crucial in maintaining their lead throughout the match. Their victory, marked by a decisive 16-10 score, underscored Bhaker's talent and determination under pressure.
