Odisha CM leads statewide Yoga Day celebration

Bhubaneswar, June 21: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi spearheaded the 10th International Yoga Day celebrations in the state on Friday. This marked a significant event as it was the first time such extensive celebrations were held across Odisha since the BJP took office.
The main event, led by the Chief Minister, took place at Kalinga Stadium where he personally engaged in yoga exercises and addressed a large gathering comprising students, officials, and citizens. Sports and Youth Services Minister Suryabanshi Suraj and Chief Secretary Pradeep Kumar Jena also actively participated.
Emphasizing the widespread observance of Yoga Day throughout the state, Chief Minister Majhi highlighted that deputy chief ministers, ministers, MPs, MLAs, and senior officials were designated as chief guests at various locations. He underscored the importance of yoga in maintaining physical and mental well-being, urging people to adopt yoga as a daily practice beyond this commemorative day.
Deputy Chief Minister KV Singh Deo attended the yoga session at Kasturba School field in Nayapalli, Bhubaneswar, while Pravati Parida, another Deputy CM, participated in the event at Konark, reflecting the statewide participation in promoting yoga for individual and societal benefit.
