Bhubaneswar, May 4: In a significant relief, 1,23,849 women who were earlier deprived of the third installment under the Subhadra Yojana have finally received their financial assistance.
According to official sources, more than ₹61 crore has been directly credited to the bank accounts of these beneficiaries. The payments, which were initially released on March 8 on the occasion of International Women’s Day, had not reached several eligible women due to technical glitches and verification-related issues.
Following a fresh round of scrutiny and field-level verification, the pending amounts have now been successfully disbursed. Officials said the process was undertaken to ensure that only genuine beneficiaries received the financial support.
Government sources further revealed that verification of nearly one lakh additional pending applications is currently underway. Authorities are working to expedite the process so that all eligible applicants receive their dues without further delay.
Meanwhile, the scheme continues to witness a strong response from the public, with over 3.26 lakh new applications already submitted.
The latest disbursement highlights the government’s efforts to strengthen welfare delivery mechanisms and ensure timely financial assistance to women, reinforcing its commitment to inclusive development and empowerment across the state.
