Bhubaneswar, May 5: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has embarked on a three-day visit to Gujarat from May 5 to 7, intensifying the state government’s push to attract investments after successful roadshows in Hyderabad and Kolkata.
During the visit, the Chief Minister will cover four major cities, engaging with entrepreneurs, investors, and industry leaders to promote Odisha as a preferred investment destination. A major highlight of the tour is an investor roadshow in Ahmedabad on May 5. The event will feature roundtable discussions and one-on-one meetings with leading industrialists, aimed at facilitating the signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and securing investment commitments across key sectors.
According to official sources, Odisha will showcase opportunities in high-growth sectors such as textiles and apparel, chemicals and petrochemicals, metals and downstream industries, as well as pharmaceuticals and medical equipment. The state is targeting investors from western India to expand its industrial ecosystem.
As part of efforts to strengthen port-led industrialisation, the delegation will visit Mundra Port on May 6 to explore opportunities in logistics and port-based industries. On May 7, an investors’ meet is scheduled in Vadodara, followed by a visit to Kevadia to further deepen industrial linkages.
The high-level delegation includes Industries, Skill Development and Technical Education Minister Sampad Chandra Swain and senior government officials. Ahead of the visit, Majhi highlighted Odisha’s robust infrastructure, policy support, and skilled workforce, expressing confidence that the tour will attract substantial investments, generate employment, and help realise the state’s vision of becoming a prosperous economy by 2036.
