Bhubaneswar, May 5: In a significant step towards expanding affordable housing in the capital, the Bhubaneswar Development Authority has opened applications for 2-BHK flats priced at around Rs 15 lakh for eligible low-income families in Bhubaneswar.
The housing project, named Trident Awas in Patia, has been developed under the Odisha Housing for All Policy in partnership with Trident Properties Pvt Ltd. Located in one of the city’s rapidly developing residential areas, the project offers 90 flats under the Low Income Group (LIG) category in two configurations. The Type-I flats, with a carpet area of 562.3 sq ft, are priced at Rs 15.51 lakh, while Type-II units, measuring 532.1 sq ft, are available at Rs 14.68 lakh.
Strategically situated on Sai Temple Road with connectivity to Patia Station Road, the project promises easy access to key parts of the city. Applications for allotment will open on May 6 and continue till June 4, 2026, through the House Allotment System (HAS) portal.
The scheme is aimed at eligible LIG households and slum dwellers possessing a valid USHA survey household number, with up to 40 per cent of the flats reserved for them on a priority basis. Any remaining units will be allotted to general applicants.
To qualify, applicants must be residents of the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation area before January 1, 2023, with an annual household income between Rs 3 lakh and Rs 6 lakh. Applicants and their immediate family members should not own a pucca house anywhere in India or have previously benefited from any government housing scheme.
Officials have advised applicants to submit complete documentation, including identity and address proof, warning that incomplete or false submissions may result in cancellation of allotment and legal action. Flats will ultimately be allotted through a transparent lottery process.
