Bhubaneswar, May 13: Providing a perfect platform to ignite the creative urge in the minds of the tiny tots, summer camp 2026 “Crafts Haven” (for students from LKG to Standard II) of the DAV Public School, Pokhariput in the city was organised with a great success, with more than 80 participants learning the art of painting, craft making, kinder cooking and many more.
The Summer Camp for kids “Crafts Haven” started on May 4 and continued till May 12 and came to an end with felicitation of all the kids with certificates and mementos. The fun-filled activity-based sessions were coordinated under the guidance of school principal Bipin Kumar Sahoo and Supervisor of the morning session Sanghamitra Satapathy. Teacher of the school Snehaprabha Das coordinated the camp “Crafts Haven” with a perfect finish.
“ We want to provide the tiny tots a perfect place to unwind and make use of their creative learning process active with these activity-based camps. We have discovered that many kids, who generally keep themselves away from socializing, were doing more activities as they had found a right medium to express themselves,” explained Supervisor of the morning session Sanghamitra Satapathy.
”Activity-Based Learning (ABL) is a cornerstone of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, aiming to shift Indian education from rote memorization to experiential, inquiry-driven, and enjoyable learning,” she added.
The Summer Camp 2026 “Crafts Haven” for the tiny tots not only provided a perfect ground for development of artistic and creative skills among the students, but it also provided an ecosystem developing team spirit, “mobile-free hours”, thus helping the kids in developing better life skills and a useful occasion to engage the students in a fulfilling practice of creative pursuit.
It was learnt that more than 80 students, from different classes associated themselves with the art of drawing, painting and print-making with their little hands, creating beautiful products from bottles we use in everyday life and discard them, goodie bag making, cooking on their own (kinder cooking), bracelet and clip-making and Quilling art and they would love to adopt these activities as their hobbies in future days.
