Bhubaneswar, May 2: The Board of Secondary Education Odisha on Saturday announced the results of the High School Certificate (Matric) Examination 2026, recording a high overall pass percentage of 95.33 per cent.
The results were declared at a special programme by School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond in the presence of Board President Srikanta Tarai and senior officials.
A total of 5,36,306 students appeared for the examination this year, out of which 5,19,251 candidates successfully passed, while 8,364 remained absent. In the grade-wise distribution, 2,456 students secured A1, 15,681 achieved A2, and a majority were placed across B, C, D, and E grades.
At the district level, Gajapati district emerged as the top performer with a pass percentage of 99.31 per cent, while Keonjhar district recorded the lowest. As many as 3,310 schools achieved a perfect 100 per cent pass rate, whereas three schools reported zero results.
The examinations were conducted at 3,082 centres across the state between February 19 and March 2, with evaluation beginning on March 19. The Board also released results for the State Open School Certificate and Madhyama examinations.
Students can check their results online from 6 pm onwards or through SMS by sending their roll number in the prescribed format. In a first, the Board has introduced bilingual certificates in Odia and English.
