Bhubaneswar, July 8: The Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE), in collaboration with SOA Deemed to be University, will organise the Technology Conclave-2026 on July 11 and 12 in Bhubaneswar, bringing together leading scientists, engineers, policymakers, industry experts and academicians to deliberate on some of India’s most pressing technological challenges.
Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, Prof. Damodar Acharya, Chairman of the INAE Bhubaneswar Chapter, said the two-day conclave aims to provide a platform for engineering researchers, faculty members, professionals and young innovators to exchange ideas and develop technology-driven solutions for national priorities.
Prof. Acharya, who is also Chairman of SOA’s International Advisory Board and former Chairman of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), said the conclave will focus on critical sectors such as long-term energy security through distributed nuclear reactors, oil and gas exploration, coal gasification, critical mineral and rare earth extraction, healthcare technology, transportation and logistics, semiconductor technologies, and next-generation communications.
He said the event will also encourage startups and entrepreneurs to showcase innovative solutions to real-world engineering challenges. Participants from academia, research institutions and industry will present extended abstracts aligned with INAE’s mission of advancing engineering excellence for national development.
The conclave, the second of its kind after its inaugural edition at IIT Bombay in 2025, will feature plenary lectures by eminent experts, including former NPCIL CMD Bhuban Chandra Pathak, Oil India CMD Dr. Ranjit Rath, Prof. U.B. Desai of Anurag University, Prof. G.D. Yadav of the Institute of Chemical Technology, Prof. Shanthi Pavan of IIT Madras and Dr. Rabi Narayan Patra, former CMD of Indian Rare Earths Ltd.
Panel discussions on transportation and logistics, healthcare technologies, and energy-intensive industries will also be held. Distinguished speakers include Prof. Abhay Karandikar, Member of NITI Aayog, Dr. Binay Kumar Das of DRDO and Vishal Dev, Additional Chief Secretary, Odisha. Dr. Ashok Kumar Panda, CMD of SAIL, will attend the inaugural session as chief guest, while INAE President J.D. Patil will also address the gathering.
SOA Vice-Chancellor Prof. Pradipta Kumar Nanda and IIT Bhubaneswar Dean (PG & Research) Prof. Subhranshu Ranjan Samantaray were also present at the press conference.
