Bhubaneswar, July 13: The Odisha Vigilance has unearthed assets worth crores during simultaneous searches conducted at properties linked to Sanjay Kumar Kispatta, Executive Engineer of the Odisha Construction Corporation Limited (OCCL), who is currently posted at Balangir on deputation to the Lower Suktel Project.
According to an official Vigilance release, the searches have so far revealed a massive four-storeyed commercial lodge comprising 23 rooms and spread over nearly 8,000 square feet. The commercial building is located at Mouza Kumbha-I in Koraput town.
Apart from the lodge, officials detected an under-construction residential house at Kumbha-II in Koraput, along with eight high-value plots of land. Of these, five plots are located in Koraput town, two in Rourkela and one in Bhubaneswar. The search team also recovered a Toyota Innova Crysta, a two-wheeler and other documents related to movable and immovable assets.
The Vigilance Technical Wing is currently carrying out the measurement and valuation of the buildings and land properties. Officials are also assessing bank deposits, financial investments and gold ornaments recovered during the searches. The raids are still in progress, and the total value of the assets is expected to increase after the assessment is completed.
Vigilance also disclosed Kispatta’s service history. Born in 1986, he joined government service in 2011 as an Assistant Engineer under the Water Resources Department at Narayanpatna in Koraput district on a consolidated monthly salary of Rs 9,300. He was regularised in 2016 and later served as Assistant Executive Engineer at Potangi Block and ITDA, Koraput.
On March 6, 2026, he was promoted as Executive Engineer and posted at OCCL, Bhubaneswar, before being deputed to the Lower Suktel Project in Balangir. Having spent nearly 15 years in Koraput district, Kispatta is now under Vigilance scrutiny as investigators continue to examine the source of the assets allegedly disproportionate to his known sources of income. Further investigation is underway.
