Bhubaneswar, May 12: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President Nitin Nabin is scheduled to visit Odisha on May 18 in what will be his first trip to the state after taking charge as the party’s national chief. The visit is being viewed as politically significant, especially in the context of the BJP’s future organisational and electoral strategies in Odisha.
According to party sources, Nitin Nabin is likely to participate in a district-level training programme at the BJP state headquarters in Bhubaneswar during his visit. The programme is expected to bring together senior party leaders, district representatives, and organisational members to discuss strategy, public outreach, coordination, and preparations for the next phase of the party’s political campaign in the state.
Ahead of the visit, the BJP has convened a crucial preparatory meeting at the state party office in Bhubaneswar. The meeting, scheduled to be held in the forenoon, will focus on finalising arrangements and reviewing the proposed schedule of the national president’s tour.
Senior BJP leaders, state office bearers, district presidents, Mandal presidents, and other key functionaries from across Odisha are expected to attend the meeting.
Party insiders said the visit will provide an opportunity to strengthen the BJP’s organisational network at the grassroots level and energise party workers across the state.
Detailed programmes, including meetings and interaction sessions, are likely to be finalised during the preparatory discussions.
