Special flight from Bhubaneswar to Prayagraj launched for Mahakumbh
Bhubaneswar, Jan 28: In response to the significant demand for transportation during the upcoming ‘Mahakumbh Mela,’ the authorities at Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) have announced the introduction of a special flight from Bhubaneswar to Prayagraj.
This special service is set to operate once a week on Wednesdays, adding to the existing four weekly flights between the two cities. Starting tomorrow, the total number of flights will increase to five.
BPIA Director Prasanna Pradhan stated, “Given the anticipated rush for the Mahakumbh, the government requested a special flight. After discussions with Alliance Air, we are pleased to introduce this additional service.” The new flight will utilize a 72-seater aircraft to accommodate the expected influx of passengers.
Currently, there are four flights operating with similar aircraft between Bhubaneswar and Prayagraj. The decision on whether to continue the special flight beyond the Mahakumbh will depend on the passenger load and demand following the event. The airport officials are hopeful that the increased frequency will provide better connectivity for pilgrims attending this significant religious gathering.
