Odisha government to launch ‘Debalaya Yojana’ for temple conservation
Bhubaneswar, Oct 28: The Odisha government is set to launch a new initiative aimed at the effective conservation and management of temples and mutts throughout the state. Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan revealed the details on Monday, stating that the proposed ‘Debalaya Yojana’ will significantly enhance the preservation of these religious sites.
Harichandan noted that the scheme will tackle various challenges faced by religious institutions, ensuring they are managed efficiently. He emphasized the need for a dedicated plan to address the specific problems temple authorities encounter.
The minister pointed out that the previous ABADHA scheme, initiated by the former BJD government, primarily focused on repair work for temples. In contrast, the new Debalaya Yojana aims to cover a broader range of issues affecting temple administration.
The initiative will prioritize repair, restoration, and overall management of temples, with the government currently developing a comprehensive blueprint for the program.
