Odisha CM inaugurates 481 development projects worth Rs 1,151 crore

Bhubaneswar, Aug 31: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 481 development projects worth Rs 1,151 crore across 30 districts during the State Level Local Self-Government Day ceremony at Lok Seva Bhavan.

In his speech, the Chief Minister underscored the significance of self-governance in delivering essential services to citizens and urged elected representatives to prioritize public welfare over politics. He also highlighted the need for decentralization and the empowerment of municipalities to effectively plan and manage urban infrastructure.

Majhi further distributed appointment letters to 27 newly appointed administrative officers and announced the creation of a handbook and toolkit for citizens and service providers to ensure timely execution of master plans and building approvals. Using Bhubaneswar's rapid urbanization as an example, he acknowledged the challenges in providing basic amenities and reiterated the government's commitment to transforming all urban areas, including Bhubaneswar, into smart cities.

The newly launched projects aim to enhance the quality of life for citizens and drive the state's overall development. The event, attended by various dignitaries, marked a significant step forward in strengthening local self-governance in Odisha.
