DGP YB Khurania reviews law and order in Boudh amid Maoist concerns

Bhubaneswar, Oct 18: Director General of Police (DGP) YB Khurania conducted a visit to Boudh on Friday to assess the district's law and order conditions. During his visit, he convened a meeting with senior police officials at the district police office. The meeting included key figures such as IG Operations Jai Narayan Pankaj, SIW DIG Kanwar Vishal Singh, South Range DIG Sarthak Sadangi, and Boudh SP Nageshwar Debarkonda.

In a related development, CRPF IG Archana Shivhare arrived in Kandhamal to evaluate the local situation following the crackdown on Maoist activities in neighboring Chhattisgarh. Her visit aims to bolster the morale of the security forces and intensify efforts to eliminate Maoist presence in the region. She arrived at the Baliguda Mini Stadium via helicopter from Chhattisgarh.

This review comes in light of recent directives from Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who instructed Chief Ministers of Maoist-affected states to conduct monthly assessments of law and order and mandated DGPs to take stock of the situation every 15 days. The Home Minister also recommended that DGPs spend a night in Maoist-affected districts each month.
