Bhubaneswar, Nov 26: The night temperature in G. Udayagiri dropped below 8°C once again, while the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded temperatures around 15°C over the past 24 hours, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday.

The coldest location in the state was G. Udayagiri in Kandhamal district, which recorded 7.5°C, followed by Phulbani and Daringbadi at 9.5°C and 10°C, respectively. The IMD also predicted shallow to moderate fog in parts of Sundargarh, Kandhamal, and Kalahandi districts until the morning of November 28.

Looking ahead, Odisha may experience light rain for three consecutive days starting December 28 due to a system forming over the Bay of Bengal. This system is expected to intensify into a deep depression and move towards the Sri Lanka–Tamil Nadu coasts, leading to moisture influx. Light rain is anticipated in areas such as Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Ganjam, and Gajapati on November 28; Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Balasore, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Ganjam, and Gajapati on November 29; and Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Malkangiri, and Koraput on November 30.

This rainfall is expected to raise the night temperatures by 2-3°C from November 29 onwards, the IMD added.
