Arun Kumar Sarangi takes charge as new Chairman of OPSC
Bhubaneswar, Oct 8: Arun Kumar Sarangi, a 1990 batch IPS officer and former In-Charge DGP, officially took over as the new chairman of the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) on Tuesday. His appointment followed the Odisha government’s approval for his voluntary retirement from public service on October 5.
Sarangi received a warm farewell from his colleagues before stepping into his new role. Speaking to the media, he reflected on the emotional challenge of leaving behind the police uniform he wore for 33 years, which he regarded as a significant part of his identity.
In his new position, Sarangi acknowledged the challenges ahead and expressed his commitment to fulfilling his responsibilities with dedication. He emphasized that enhancing transparency in the selection process will be his primary focus.
He cautioned job aspirants to remain vigilant against scams, particularly those involving promises of employment in exchange for money. Sarangi reiterated OPSC's commitment to conducting timely recruitment exams and upholding a transparent selection process, reinforcing the Commission's rich legacy of 75 years while prioritizing training for candidates.
